Annette Zurrer
Annette brings a wealth of local knowledge in the dairy industry to her role as GippsDairy’s Project Director. Annette runs a dairy farm with her husband at her Longwarry property so she has an excellent understand of dairy farming issues.
Although she grew up on the family farm, Annette decided to explore different career options and undertook undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Nursing. Although she loved her work in this field, she realized missed being involved in dairy farming. She undertook an Agricultural International Exchange Denmark as a Farm Worker and lived and worked for 8 months on a dairy and cropping property in Denmark. After that, she completed an Agricultural Science degree at the University of Melbourne and went on to work at DPI (Ellinbank) as an extension officer, was the Dairying for Tomorrow Co-ordinator for GippsDairy and is now GippsDairy’s Project Director.
Annette is married with three young children (two daughters and a son) her interests include tennis, beadwork, craft, a passion for her dairy farm (which includes calf antenatal care) and home renovations.
