Executive Assistant

Melanie Smith

Melanie commenced as GippsDairy’s Executive Assistant in April 2009. She has a strong background in administration and is comfortable working across a wide range of activities, including the provision of IT support to the GippsDairy office and staff. Melanie works full time in the office at GippsDairy.

Melanie worked at Monash University in a variety of departments for 27 years and undertook her degree by distance education. Her time management skills were tested to the extreme when she was juggling young children, studying part-time and working full time. Happily, she successfully graduated with an Arts degree (with a computing stream) in 1997. Prior to working at Monash, Melanie worked as a junior secretary to the then Member for McMillan (Barry Simon, MHR).

Melanie is married with four (now) grown up children and two granddaughters. Her interests include anything to do with horses, cooking, reading, writing, gardening and any family activities. She also regularly feeds her geek side by spending time on computer applications and games. Melanie is usually the cheerful voice who greets callers ringing into the GippsDairy office.
